The Love That
Has Always
Been There
Episode Three: Divine love and what we are walking toward
There is a love that does not require you to earn it. It was there before you arrived and has never left, not during the long winter, not during the silence, not even when you stopped looking for it.
This episode is an invitation to remember something you may have forgotten, or perhaps never been taught in the first place.
I am held by a love I did not earn and cannot lose.
Begin with the teaching
You do not need to believe everything in this episode before you listen. Just bring whatever you have. Doubt is welcome here too.
The Love That Has Always Been There
Let this one land gently. There is no hurry.
This love was never conditional
Every tradition that speaks of the divine describes a love that does not require performance or worthiness. This episode explores what it means to be loved before you do anything to deserve it.
Fear and love are not the same thing
Many of us were taught to approach the divine through fear, obligation, or transaction. The Sufi tradition offers something different: a path toward the divine rooted entirely in love.
You were made from this love
Before the cracked soil, before the long winter, before the things that taught you to doubt yourself, there was a soul that emerged from something sacred. This is not a metaphor. This is your origin.
Reflection questions
Sit with whichever one feels most alive in you right now. You do not need to answer all of them. Just one honest response is enough.
What word or image comes to mind when you think of the divine or a higher love? What has shaped that image?
Have you ever had a moment, even a brief one, where you felt held by something larger than yourself? What was that like?
What would change in your daily life if you genuinely believed you were loved unconditionally, exactly as you are right now?
Hand on Heart
Once each day this week, pause and place your hand on your heart. Take one slow breath in and one slow breath out. Say quietly, aloud or in your heart: My heart is a sanctuary. I am safe to remember peace. That is all. Thirty seconds. Let it land.
