Cat Yoga at the Regal Cat Cafe in Calgary - Our first outing for the Calgary Retreat

Most women who come to this retreat are not looking for dramatic change. They are looking for something real and are tired of carrying everything alone.

They are quietly holding grief, spiritual fatigue, and unanswered questions. They want something to shift not just in their routines, but in their hearts. The Miracle Retreat was created for women like this.

Women who are sincere, spiritually open, and ready to receive. Women who want healing that honors their faith and gives them space to reconnect with who they truly are beneath the exhaustion.

Why We Call It the Miracle Retreat

A miracle does not always look like a breakthrough.

Sometimes it is a softening.

Sometimes it is a quiet release.

Sometimes it is the clarity that comes after years of confusion.

This retreat is not about dramatic transformation or emotional pressure.

It is about creating space for what Allah has already written for you to arrive gently, safely, and in its time.

Many women leave saying they feel more like themselves again.

More grounded. More open. More connected to Allah.

And that is the miracle we are making space for.

What the Retreat Offers

This is a five-day spiritual healing experience grounded in Islamic tradition, prophetic medicine, and the Sufi path of the heart.

Held in Calgary, with sacred group outings to Calgary and Banff, the retreat includes:

  • Daily prayers, dhikr, and spiritual reflections

  • Guided healing sessions using Unani Tibb and prophetic medicine

  • Emotional and spiritual support personalized to your temperament

  • Time for rest, journaling, connection, and silence

  • Cat yoga, horseback riding, and small hike

  • Supportive sisterhood and safe community

  • A day in nature surrounded by the beauty of the mountains

This is not a retreat that asks you to perform or prove anything.

You will be gently supported, spiritually nourished, and invited into deep rest and presence.

What Makes This Retreat Different

There are many retreats available — but few rooted in Islamic tradition with emotional integrity.

What makes this one unique is the combination of:

  • Spiritually grounded teaching that honors both Sufi and Islamic paths

  • Temperament-based healing drawn from prophetic wisdom

  • Trauma-informed care that respects emotional boundaries and readiness

  • A strong intention of sincerity, safety, and sacred service

As a certified Sufi healing practitioner, I hold this space with reverence.

Every part of the retreat is crafted with prayer and purpose, not just programming.

You will not be rushed. You will not be overwhelmed.

You will be guided to reconnect with Allah, your body, and your inner self.

Who This Is For

This retreat is for women who are:

  • Feeling spiritually or emotionally disconnected

  • Suffering from health conditions and illnesses

  • Ready to receive support, rather than keep holding everything alone

  • Navigating grief, change, or inner uncertainty

  • Curious about prophetic medicine and spiritual healing

  • New to Islam or returning with a heart open to remembrance

  • Longing for a safe, sacred space that welcomes their full self

You do not need to be experienced.

You do not need to have perfect faith.

You just need to be open.

What You Will Walk Away With

By the end of the retreat, you will have:

  • A stronger connection to your faith and your body

  • Personalized healing tools you can use at home

  • Clarity around what you are holding and how to move forward

  • A sense of emotional peace and spiritual grounding

  • A supportive sisterhood and sacred space to return to when needed

This is more than a retreat.

It is a reset for your heart.

What Participants Have Shared

“As my first residential retreat I had no idea what to expect!

Five days later… An insightful and spiritual experience with like minded women who lived, prayed and shared their own stories in a calm and safe space together.

The group with four other seekers like me and the willingness to share our personal journeys added dimensions to the conversation and helped us all understand ourselves and others in a non-judgemental environment.

Although our journeys might have been different, we all were headed to the same destination: oneness with Allah and strengthening our connection with our creator through worship, dhikr and fasts during the month of Ramadan.

I am so grateful to Allah for bestowing me with this opportunity and have such a deeply spiritual experience filled with peace and growth. Thank you Khadijah and may Allah reward you for your sincere effort in organizing this lovely space for us and an epic and transformational experience with the horses as well."

-Farrah, North Carolina

“I thank God first and Khadijah for providing a safe space to help me to discover areas in my heart that I have to work on healing. The one on one section with Khadijah allowed me to release and to open up. The sisters make me feel at home and I was able to learn from them.

Learning something new has been non-stop after the retreat. I’m grateful for my continued strength, my growing relationship with God and acceptance as a creation of God. I found my joy again! Change starts from your heart. Allow yourself to participate and be part of this amazing retreat.

I have had the opportunity to be in a spiritual retreat before, but this time was a different concept and practice. When I first enrolled, I was saying to myself, 'what are you doing?' and days later, God answered my question.

Having the opportunity to share a house with four wonderful women brought change and comfort to my heart. Being able to listen to their stories and journey brought a huge view in my life. It was a safe environment and a non-judgment zone. We helped each other through listening and understanding."

-Joselyn, Florida

"I had a wonderful time at the Ramadan retreat. I would recommend these retreats to women seeking a safe space to come closer to Allah suhanu wa ta ala. The program was intentional, we got to spend time with horses, the food was amazing, and the AirBnB we stayed in was perfect! I highly recommend Khadijah who runs the retreats - she is kind, understanding and thoughtful."

-Nadia, Edmonton

Reflections from Our Last Retreat

Zyka’s restaurant in Banff, Alberta

This has to be one of my favourite photos of this year’s in-person retreat and here’s why…

The day had just began after we completed our Bow River horseback ride and headed to lunch.

On a long weekend there was no parking as we sat alongside a curb by a meter we were sure wasn’t a place to park. Our plan to follow Allahs guidance was underway for multiple lunch ideas as someone knocked on our window to offer their parking spot.

We walked to the halal restaurant Zyka’s just a few short blocks away from the downtown parking spot. The restaurant was incredible: halal food, warm, beautiful view, not busy, no wait and immediate service.

After lunch, Allah opened up a time and space to ask the waitress for a snapshot of us on the patio. As we stepped outside to take this picture there’s a moment that I’ll never forget and probably will never happen again…

A bird landed on the patio ground, clearly distraught and dizzy (probably hit a window and was unable to fly away).

Everyone gasped and moved away as they had no idea what to do. I slowly moved toward the bird, who could barely move, and reached my hand out for it to have a place to be held and gather it’s balance before perhaps taking flight again.

The bird’s head was tilted sideways and was trying to move/outstretch its wings. It hopped into my hand and I slowly brought it up to the railing and one of the girls laughed and said, “okay, Snow White!”, as the bird leaned it’s head against the inside of my palm and rested there.

I tried to capture what had just happened after realizing myself that I was holding a bird in my hand. Everyone was shocked, including myself at this point.

As soon as I took my attention away from the bird to capture the moment, it took flight. It left me with the memory of how when we fall we need the gentleness, mercy and compassion and all it takes is a heart willing to offer a safe place to be held until we are ready to fly again.

These women have taught me so much about my role as a teacher, traveller, sister, and a friend. Over the past 14 weeks they’ve gotten to know themselves and connect with their Creator again in a way that is full of Divine love.

They closed the gap between new Muslims and born Muslims by letting go of expectations and separation. We built bridges and healed traumatic wounds from past religious experiences.

We opened a safe space to understand gender, race, and prejudices that cause separation within our communities. We learned about the qualities of Allah and implemented the tools and resources we’ve learned over the past 14 weeks to witness the glory and majesty of Allah in real time.

Some of the comments I overheard during this retreat are…

“I’m going to miss doing dhikr with you guys every day”

“I feel like an embodied being again and I haven’t felt that in a long time”

During our day trip in Banff…

“The signs Allah showed us… I’ve never witnessed before in my life and every moment was perfect you couldn’t ignore it”

Their next steps were to

Live in the moment more freely with intention, presence and reliance on Allah

Laugh when we fall short instead of beating ourselves up in silence and shame and to

Love more compassionately and mercifully as Allah loves us without compliance or the need to please others or feeling of needing to earn or achieve good deeds in order to be loved.

There’s no where else I’d rather be than holding space for these women to safely heal and deeply understand the love of Allah. To feed their souls with salah, prayer, Quran and dhikr. To be an empty space for Allah to use me in a way where they can witness the overflowing mercy and compassion each day. To be human and to be deeply seen, understood and loved as a woman of faith without thinking or believing we are more or less than anyone else.

May we be the outstretched hand of Allah when we witness another who has been hit with calamity and offer a place of refuge, solace and mercy for them. May we gently hold the ones who Allah puts in our palms to rest and be patient without expectation or assumption of what happens or what they need. May we allow ourselves to be in the moment with gratitude and patience so we can witness everyday miracles. May we continue to heal from our traumas of being human and rest in the hands of mercy and compassion so that we may gather the strength and stability to take flight again. Ameen.

A Simple Invitation

If something inside of you is asking for space, for stillness, or for softness this may be the next step.

You do not have to wait until you feel ready.

You do not have to carry everything by yourself.

Let this be the place where you pause, receive, and begin again.

We would be honored to welcome you.
